China Glaze shades of nude Collection

It’s been a while because I’ve done a nail post! Today I’m showcasing a collection that was released for spring this year, but I personally think a good nude collection is season-less. I’ve got 3 of the China Glaze shades of nude Collection to show:

• minimalist Momma (sand beige creme)
• Fresher Than My Clique (mushroom taupe creme)
• kill The Lights (deep mauve creme)

I received these China Glaze polishes from nail polish Canada (NPC) to review.

The full collection consists of 12 shades in a range of neutral tones to suit a broad variety of skintones.

All of the polishes have a creme finish – no shimmer or glitters in the bunch. I’m always on the hunt for the next work-appropriate manicure shade, so these were all best up my alley!

My first pick was minimalist Momma, which has the blurb of “It’s not challenging to find the charm in simplicity with this classic sandy tan”.

I would call this a slightly peachy tan shade with a jelly finish.

It’s a sheerer formula – after the first coat, there is some streaking and visible nail line (VNL):

The second coat still doesn’t completely erase the VNL:

I ended up doing 3 coats for this final shot.

I really liked how this looked against my skintone, which is tanned from the summer:

Next is Fresher Than My Clique, which is a cooler toned greige taupe shade:

China Glaze’s description for Fresher Than My Clique: view out for haters. This dope taupe is the freshest shade in the crew.

It has a thicker consistency which offers good coverage, I find using thinner coats to be better with this particular formula.

I’m not sure if this colour is flattering on my skintone, which I would estimate to be around NC25 with my tan:

Lastly, I could not resist the shade kill The Lights even though it’s not really a skintone colour:

I just cannot help myself around these dusty mauve type of colours!

China Glaze describes kill The Lights as The elegant comes out at night. This provocative pinky beige prefers to slay after dark.

The formula on this one is perfection! I could have gotten away with just one coat – it’s one of those self-leveling polishes that makes it practically foolproof.

I did find that it dried darker compared to how the colour looks in the bottle.

I wore this for a full week and I only experienced suggestion wear but no chips, which is common of how China Glaze polishes wear on me.

Here are the 3 colours swatched side by side on my nails:

L to R: minimalist Momma, Fresher Than My Clique, and kill The Lights – all swatches in this post were done without top coat.

The China Glaze shades of nude Collection is still readily available from NPC here.  Each 14ml bottle retails at $8.45 CAD.  Personally, I think these are classic shades that ought to be made permanent!  My preferred is “Kill The Lights” followed by “Minimalist Momma”. Which one do you like best?

A bit about nail polish Canada – they are the premier Canadian source for nail polishes and nail supplies. I first discovered them back in 2011 and have been hooked ever since. here is how my parcel arrived:

Thank you, NPC!
Their tagline of “Your friendly neighbourhood polish people” is spot-on: they ship from Canada and also include a piece of candy and a good note in every shipment! You can find China Glaze polishes on nail polish Canada here.

This post includes products which were offered to me by nail polish Canada totally free of charge. I wrote about the products based on my own experience and offered my impartial review.

Collective nail polish AcquisitionsAs you’ve seen in yesterday’s post, I’ve been hitting up all the Winners and Marshalls within a 10km radius of my home last month. I also went to my preferred beauty salon supply shop that sells polishes for low-cost – they still had the Essie purchase 4 get 2 totally free offer, and…

Nail polish stashAll right, here’s the stash that started it all.  If it wasn’t for my growing nail polish collection, I would have never tracked any of my makeup in a spreadsheet. and out of everything I hoard, I would say that purchasing nail polish is the most compulsive for me.  They’re…

NailPolishCanada OrderThis purchase was prompted primarily by ONE nail polish: China Glaze Choo-Choo choose You, from the fall 2014 All Aboard collection. I was browsing some nail polish blogs taking a look at older nail polish collections and came across it. I primarily wanted it for the colour but… a part of me…
